Choose Your Domain Name Carefully.

In the early day's of the Internet at a time when computers were really only for geeks and were just starting to make there way into peoples homes, I took an interest in website design and learnt the basics of HTML and how to put a website together. I went on to produce firstly a website for a friend whom owned a hotel in the Cotswolds and charged him very little money having explained that it was my first attempt and on the understanding that he would need to be patient with me, I actually did a half decent job and he seemed happy with what I had done. I did a website for an antiques dealer and he to was satisfied with the results. I soon realised that web design is about more than just the technicalities behind the process you also need an eye for design, now technical ability I have, an eye for design I don't have and I soon became aware of my shortcomings in this area and stopped doing websites.

One of the rules of web design is choose your domain name wisely. All of these are companies that didn't spend quite enough time considering how their online names might appear - and perhaps be misread...

  1. Who Represents is where you can find the name of the agent that represents any celebrity. Their Web site is
    www.whorepresents.com/

  2. Experts Exchange is a knowledge base where programmers can exchange Advice and views at
    www.expertsexchange.com/

  3. Looking for a pen? Look no further than Pen Island at
    www.penisland.net/

  4. Need a therapist? Try Therapist Finder at
    www.therapistfinder.com/

  5. There's the Italian Power Generator company,
    www.powergenitalia.com/

  6. And don't forget the Mole Station Native Nursery in New South Wales,
    www.molestationnursery.com/

  7. If you're looking for IP computer software, there?s always
    www.ipanywhere.com/

  8. The First Cumming Methodist Church Web site is
    www.cummingfirst.com/

  9. And the designers at Speed of Art await you at their wacky Web site,
    www.speedofart.com/
