Silver wedding Anniversary.

On Tuesday 19th June Gill and I will have been married 25 years, quite a milestone in this day and age I am sure you will agree, well it certainly is here in the UK.

When I first met Gill 30 years ago her parents did not like me very much, why? well I was older than her to start with, I smoked, I liked a drink, my sense of dress was that of a hippy with the long hair and other appropriate hippy attire, I liked loud music and did not attend church, what could a nicely brought up studious young christian girl possibly see in the likes of me? Gills parents were of the opinion that she would soon wise up and get fed up with me. How wrong they were.
I think over the years Gill's parents have become fond of me and we get along fine now.
Whilst we did not have children, (I don't know why the time just never seemed right) we enjoyed traveling together, shared our love of the water and beaches, we also had the same passion for good food and wine, the opportunity to experience different cultures around the world, including our more recent experiences on the Maltese Island of Gozo and the islands very friendly people.

Gill and I are going to Lille in France for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary, we will travel from London Waterloo by Eurostar to Lille, France, traveling time I believe is about 1hour 40 minutes (1st class of course), we will be treated to a champagne breakfast on the train.

On our arrival we will be staying at the 4* Hotel Hermitage Gantois for 2 nights, and we are both very much looking forward to it.

Cheers, a toast to the next 25 years.

Congratulations! You are a shining example that long-term relationships are possible (with a lot of hard work and dedication, I am sure!)
