Fine Wine & Food On Gozo.

This will be my last post for a couple of weeks, Gill and I leave for Gozo tommorrow, we should arrive on the island at around 5.00pm.
My first task on arrival will be to book a table for the evening at It-Tmun restaurant in the pretty seaside village of Xlendi, this is a traditional style restaurant serving a
fusion of Maltese, Mediterranean and Thai food, with a choice of fresh fish caught that day to choose from.
Leli and Jayne are the proprietors here with Jayne being the chef extraodinaire and Leli and his staff looking after the customers every need.
We have been eating here for many years and Leli never fails to impress us, he has an extensive wine cellar and is very knowledgeable about wine in general, he is infact as much of an enthusiast when it comes to wine as I am, try the Ripasa or the Amarone, Italian rather than local wines but wonderful non the less.

There is also an It-Tmun in Victoria, the islands capital, this is a much more contemporary restuarant and wine bar and happens to be run by the son of Leli and Jayne.
Patrick learnt his trade from his parents, and once again top quality food and a massive wine cellar with many wines here way beyond the means of my wallet, (wines such as the famous Penfold Grange) but still plenty of affordable wines to choose from.
His awards include - top restuarant 2005 - 2006. Best wine list 2005 - 2006. Best Fine wines 2005.

The food that Patrick serves I would best describe as Sicilian, Maltese influence with a European feel to it, so original that it is difficult to define.
Once again Patrick and his staff always make us feel welcome and we always have a good time here, as with any succsesful restuarant it is the whole package that makes it work, it is more than just about the food and the drink............................Looking forward to it Patrick book me a table.......
